How do I get everything up and running?
| Below is everything you need to do in order to get your sites up and running. Click on each item to get a more detailed description:
- Register your domain: It is important that you do this first to ensure that you get the domain you want. If you order hosting first for a domain you have not yet registered, someone else may register it before you have a chance to!
- Order your reseller package: If you are just starting out, it is probably best to get the smallest package. Then, as you gain more customers/websites, you can upgrade your package as you grow.
- Register your nameservers: If you wish to use personalised nameservers, you will need to register them at your domain registrar, then wait for them to propagate to the server before they can be used.
- Create some packages: You must have at least one package set up in WHM before you can add any accounts, as each account must be on a package. A package determines the resources each account has.
- Add accounts in WHM: Once packages have been created, you can set up your domain accounts. Your main domain will already be set up.
- Upload your files: For each account, upload its website files to the public_html directory using FTP.
- Access CPanel: The control panel for your domains. From here you can set up email accounts, MySQL databases, and anything else your website requires to be active as soon as it goes online.
- Update the nameservers for your domain(s): You will need to point your domains to their new accounts, including your main domain (the one you specified when signing up for your Reseller account).
- Allow your domains to propagate. That's it! You can now safely close your account at your previous host.
